The pilot of seven Caltex New Zealand service stations is off to a flying start with Infinity - a great sign of the benefits to come when it’s rolled out to 140 sites across the country by the end of September.
Caltex has chosen Infinity as its new POS and retail management platform and is expecting a number of business improvements from the outset.
Information to drive action
Kim Woodgate, Caltex Retail Manager says, “We want to see transactional data on a more timely basis. Infinity can give us the accurate, up-to-the minute reporting on trends and campaign effectiveness that we haven’t had before. It’s valuable information to help us plan purchasing and promotions.”
Keeping customers moving
If the POS goes down, there’s nothing more frustrating for staff and for customers in a queue. Kim says, “Customers want to get in and out. Every microsecond counts for good customer service.”
Infinity removes this worry with its fully redundant architecture and very fast transaction processing.
Easy deployment and updates
Caltex is deploying Infinity to retire current end-of-life systems.
Kim says, “We had different developers in different countries and a lot of complexity in the system. If something went wrong, it was easy for one company to blame another. Infinity has been easy to deploy and integrate and takes all that hassle away. It gives us new security capability and features to remain as reliable as we can.”
In the service stations themselves, the roll-out has been very seamless. Cashiers are getting up to speed with Infinity quickly, and downtime and customer service delays have been minimal. Kim says, “There’s been no need to make any adjustments to our launch plan or to the software. The Infinity team has been tremendous to work with, always there when we need help.”
Adding new services and applications quickly
Infinity integrates with systems that Caltex will be using at its services stations, including its forecourt controllers and accounting software like QuickBooks. So workflow doesn’t have to be disrupted and teams can hit the ground running as soon as Infinity is onboard.
Kim is looking forward to bringing new services to customers with Infinity’s help. And he knows they’ll soon be seeing the benefits of better inventory control, invoicing, and inward goods management.
